Question HELP - My blinkers quit working.

What are some of the causes?

I don't think there's a short. When I turn on the blinkers, nothing happens. Nothing blinks outside of the car and the arrows on the dash don't even light-up. I've checked all of the bulbs and they're all fine.

Thanks

First thing, check the fuse. Second thing, replace the flasher. You have two flashers under the dash, one for turn signals, other for 4-way.

After you find the two flashers, turn on your 4-way and feel the flashers to see which one is clicking. Replace the non-clicking one.

Has the column or dash been worked on recently? Check the connectors on the multi-funciton switch (blinker/hi-beam/wiper). On mine one of the supply wires was pushed out of the harness. I pushed it back in and all was well.

Good luck,

Rich D.

These are all the things you need to check.....but if all else fails, brush up on your hand signals, or just don't turn

Default where are the flasher relays?

I'm waking my car up from it's winter-long sleep and I can't seem to locate the flasher relays. Anyone know where they are found?

Thanks

the flasher should be underneath your drivers side dash. But i dont think that that is your problem. If it was, your turn signals would work, they just wouldnt blink (flash)

I think its a wiring problem like richd suggested. When I pulled my dash, i accidentally messed up the plug on the back of the warning lights switch and every now and then it loses connection and my turn signals wont work. I guess that the warning lights are on the same circuit. Try pulling that swith out and messing with the wires.

good luc

I've seen the flasher stop the signal from lighting up, and just cause it not to flash. Since it's been sitting, I have to wonder if a mouse has gotten in there and messed with your wiring though.

The flasher is located under the drivers side dash, and it should be relatively close to the back of the fuse panel. It's a small cylinder shaped object with a "L" shaped female two pronged connector attached to it. In stock location, it uses a small rectangular plastic piece at one end that allows you to turn it 1/2 a turn and lock it into a hole in one of the dash support beams. Most aftermarket ones just get stuffed up there in the wiring.

did you check you turn signal fluid? maybe it's empty. J/K chech the fuses and the flasher, sometimes a burned out bulb will cause the whole thing to quite
