Default Anyone know of good shops around Indianapolis

I am by no means a mechanic. This comeing week I am haveing a set of rear end gears put in my 97 cobra, but dont know of a fair good shop in the Indianapolis area. Kenny Brown first jumped into my head so I gave them a call, they wanted 1,000 bucks for the install and would not do the speedo correct. That seems just a bit high to me. Any help is apreciated.

Hey, what part of Indy are you from?
ever go to the Sam's club cruise in on friday nights on E. Washington st? I'll probably be there tonight if it stays nice out, if you do go, look for a black coupe with a cobra spoiler and a grey cobra R style hood.

Now about your gears.
Yah stay away from Kenny Brown for any mechanical work, they're good but they charge WAY too much.

A place called Automotion down in Greenwood on Troy ave just east of madison did my gears. They charged right around $200 for labor and did a good job, theres no whine at all.

Another thing you can do is find a Ford mechanic that does side jobs. I worked at Capitol City Ford over the summer and theres a couple huge Stang nuts there that do gears for like $100 on the side. Chris is a better mechanic IMO but last I heard he didnt want to do anymore sidework, but since it's a Cobra he may change his mind. The other guy's name is Eric. If you decide to check them out, tell them Drew told you about them.

another thing, no offence to Mustangdani, but stay away from Indy Mustang Performance.

I am goign to Illinois tonight, but would love to head over to the cruise next weekend. As far as Indy Mustang Performance goes I have learned my lesson. Lets say 3 thousand dollars and i still dont have a tranny that works in my basically stock 91 coupe. I am actually from Lebanon, IN. I look forward to meeting you.
