Default Is Off-road H-pipe worth it?

Is it worth throwing an Off-road H on with my mods? I was offered one for $80. I know it will sound cool, but I have heard I may lose some bottom end grunt? I am looking for opinions from people who have put one on with minor mods like my car. Did it make a difference?

If you can get away with it (emissions) yeah, they are definitely worth it!

Before I did my heads cam and intake, I had very similar mods to you. With that set up and a terrible shifting AODE I got a best of 14.2 @ 98. Pritty good in my opinion. I thought the H pipe was a very good mod because I loved the sound that it gave off and I thought it gave my car more power. That sounds like a good deal. Hope this helps.

It'd be good to have for future mods if nothing else. I don't think you'll notice a drastic improvement in power or anything, with the few mods you have now. If you eventually go with bigger mods like heads, cam and intake, that's when the o/r h will really come into play. You might actually lose a little torque with it now. I'd recomend you get it if you plan on those mods, and emmissions are not a real concern, it's not a bad price.

Well thanks for the help. I do plan to do something with the heads, maybe intake eventually. I was wondering if it made more HP. I know I might lose torque

An X-pipe will cost you even more torque on a mostly-stock engine.

However, they build more power up top, so if you're looking for high-RPM power, an o/r X-pipe is the better choice.

I say go for it, i put one on my 3rd stang(now on our 7th) which was mostly stock and felt a difference right away. Keep your stock one handy if you have smog requirements.
