Default trans swap

Can anyone tell me will a 5-speed from an'80's turbo t-bird bolt up and hold up behind a mild 289 4bbl. I'm doing a swap to a '75 Datsun 280Z.

Yes it will bolt up. As far as will it hold up to the power I have a few friends in town that have done this and have not had any problems. They love the T-bird turbocoupe trans because of the different gear ratio's that are in them.
