I go through that all the time when changing head gaskets. That procedure will work perfectly. If you have two people, it is easier if one person puts there finger in the #1 plug hole and the other slowly cranks the motor. When you hit the compression stroke you will know it
Then just put your distributor back in and aim it to the #1 cylinder.Quote:
