Anyone use 1.6 & 1.7 rockers?

Anyone ever use a mixture of 1.6's and 1.7's?

Was it you that was talking about this recently?

I thought it was, or maybe it was someone over on the Corral.

Isn't it 1.7s on exhaust and 1.6s on the intake?

I'm curious about this as well.

Yes, it was, I was surprised earlier last week that no one had ever done this, it's no biggy, I was just asking it simply, looking for a broader responce.

When I was building my motor, and consulting with a friend he mentioned that same trick. 1.7's on the exhaust side, cause thats where the stock heads could use improvment. But I believe he said its only beneficial on stock heads, cause aftermarkets are well, built to perfection (if you will). He said people have been doing it for a long time, but that was the only time i have ever heard that. So who knows......

ive heard that you can gain some power with aftermarket heads with that trick too. i havent tried it myself but am looking into it, i have ported and polished edelbrock rpm heads on my 95gt. so i too am wondering if the gain will be worth it or not, if its only gonna give me 10 horse ill stick with what i have, ive read somthing about someone using this trick but dont remember where, hopefully they will come forward with some info for us.

Get a good cam and you won't need to mix and match. LOL.

I haven't, but on a set of stock heads the exhaust can definitely use the extra bump to help rid the cylinder of all spent gases.

However, as Kell said, if you get a good cam for your application (proper duration, lobe separation, lift) and especially if you match this with a nice set of aftermarket heads (a la TFS TW, AFR, etc) you won't need to do the "mix match suffle."
