Default what year 351 block??

i think im going to forget doing heads and cam on my 302 and just start building a 393 stroker...i need to know what are some good years to be looken for? i plan on having it EFI

'69 was a good year..if not then get a newer rollor motor out of a 150 or fulll size bronco

'69 and '70 blocks have "unusual" (shorter) deck heights than other years. Great for putting in flattop pistons and making higher compression motors, but more difficult getting intakes.
I ran a '69 block with '70 heads for 10.7:1 in my 351-W Zephyr.

I would get something as new as possible, like out of a van or something...

Then, building a 351 wont be cheap. It'll take a LOT more small items that will easily add up. You'll be overbudget in no time!!! Build the 302.

Go ahead and build the 393 stroker. If you start to go over budget then extend your project time.....big deal....it will be worth it in the long run. I have only a mild 351w in my '82 and I swore it would never see another 302 in the engine compartment for as long as I owned the car!!

82 GT - i need a 9.5 deck height...do you or anyone else know what years had the 9.5 deck height...

and as for over budget and time of project i really dont have one..just want to do it...i never sat down and said im want to do it but only spend this much...

from 71 -95 is 9.503 69-70 9.480 i say do the 351 blocks are stronger that the 302s
