Yes it will definitely go into your car. I had a 429 in a '79 mustang a few years ago. When I did my conversion there wasn't much out there for kits so I had to custom build headers, motor mounts, and modify quite a few other things. I also had a c-6 with a smooth, unribbed bellhousing( i'm not sure what it came out of )for clearance, and a 9 inch out of a lincoln versaille w/disc brakes. It worked out well and there was a surprising amount of room on either side. I also had to run manual brakes as there was no room for a booster, but i think an '86 & up booster will work, as they are smaller.
There are now kits available to do this swap but i am not sure from where. ------------------ B.R. L.X. 5.0 coupe Cruise control, power mirrors,...and Thats it! |

i am going to do the same exact thing you are but im using a 69 429 thunderjet 370 horse and 480 torque stock in 1972 power went way down so you better wake that baby up cause in 72 the 460 made 218 horse and 360 torque 429 was close with about same figures far far from impressive it would suck to do all that work and have a pretty much stock 5.0 pass you. but good luck im looking for the body right now to drop in my modified 450 horse 429 and i cant wait. there will be some tire smoke for sure........
