Default Loose steering wheel

My '85 has a loose steering wheel but it is tight! The shaft into the top of the column looks to be loose. It moves side to side and up and down about 1/4". Is there a bushing or spacer worn out? Anyone experience this before? What do I need to do?

Yes the bolt was tight. The shaft going into the top of the column looks to be wobbeling inside the top of the column. I guess I'll just take it all apart and investigate.

The steering column is a collapsible design with an inner shaft down from the rag joint, sliding into an outer shaft from about the firewall up to the steering wheel. Some years had an anti-rattle clip at the inner/outer junction. Maybe your clip has fallen out and is allowing excessive play between the shafts.
