Post Trade two cars for one?...yes or no?(long)

Ok, here is the offer. I can trade both my '82 GT and my '88GT for an '83GT that runs 12.7@107
This '83 is totally worked over and I mean totally worked with nothing but high end parts. These are the details he emailed me with:
The motor was redone @ 83,xxx. The motor consists of .030 over, Comp
Cams Extreme Engergy 274 cam, Complete MSD ignition, RPM intake, 650
Double pump, Windsor Jr heads w/ race valves and 10 degree locks and
retainers, MAC exhaust (1 5/8 longtubes, 2.5" through out w/ dumps). The
Trans is a C4 rebuild with raybestos clutches, PA 3500 stall, TCI manual
reverse valve body, hurst quarter stick shifter, it has less than
500miles on it. The rear end is a 88 Turbo Coupe disk brake rear,
consists of Auburn 31 spline, Moser 31spline long stud axels, Motorsport
4.10 gears, rebuilt calipers, new rotors, new lines, the rear has less
than 700 miles on it. The front suspension consists of 89 5.0 11" rotors
and calipers, new pads, new lines, new bearings. The struts are lakewood
70/30s w/ Engergy Suspension bushings and 4cyl springs. The struts were
put on last christmas, and the rest of the suspension was done in 98.
The car has cross type subframe connectors. The rear suspension is CE
3way adjustable rear shocks, 4cyl springs, and lakewood Slapper bars, All
done last christmas. The interior has 85GT grey seats that need
cleaning, however there are no tears or rips, newer carpet which didnt
fit that well from the begining. The dash pad is mint, no rips, no
tears, no holes. The interior is all black except for the seats. It has
an autometer 5"tach with shiftlite and 2 5/8 water temp gauge. Here are
the rest of the details that I would think would make or break the whole
situation. The black paint is in beyond average condition, however to
make it a true show vehicle it would need to be repainted because there
are some chips and scratches that show up really well in a black paint
job, and 2-3 minor, minor dings that happened from parking lots. THe
rest of the body is rust free and straight, including the hatch. The car
has a manual rack, manual brakes, manual windows, and manual locks, no
tilt, no cruise. There is no radio or heater box, however I do have a
heater box if that is of concern. It also has an electric fuel pump and
3/8 lines throughout. I have polished skinney spares upfront with brand
new 165s on them and 10 holes for the rear to drive on, I also have a set
of polshed 10 holes with slicks. They have tubes and are already
screwed. They are MT ET streets 26x10.5 I also have 2 more 10 holes w/
tires that will go with it. There are not too many parts on the car that
havent been fixed, replaced or modified.
What do you guys think of this deal?

I'd expect a little more than a 107 trap speed from it, sounds like its been done right though. Take it for a spin, if you like it then I say go for it, 11's are only a bottle away!

GT-40 heads (ported, polished, + milled), B303 cam, 1.7rr's, JE pistons, Offy intake, Carter AFB 625cfm carb, Flowtech 1 5/8" shortys, Flowtech X-pipe, MAC Flowpath exhaust, MAC pulleys, 373's, subframes, Eibachs+Tokicos, B+M ripper, FMS Clutch, Zoom Quadrant+cable, 17" CSA Ultra rims, 235/45ZR17 Yokohama AVS S4's, MSD 6A ignition+coil, FMS 9mm wires, Carbed, Naturally Aspirated, and Nasty!

I'm going to go back on what I said about the trap speed, I didn't take into account that a well set-up, drag suspension car with an automatic will ease the power to the ground and ET quicker than a manual car but won't have as high of a trap speed. Basically, I just like the manual on the "little" motor because to get the most out of it you need all the torque you can get going to the wheels.

That sounds like a sweet azz car! What do you have done to your cars that you would trade? Are they stock? And what's the use of having 2 anyways? I'd say go for it. But make sure you drive it first! And really check it out good. Make sure he's not bullshitting you on anything.

No way in the world I would do it. Like I have told others, it's someones elses project and your problems. The 88 is far more advance in everyway then that, plus you have a 351 in the other stang. I say it's a big rip off, but it's your decsion.

93cobraR, This car is a different car that I was refering to in another post. I got some pics of that other car and realized that it wasn't worth it at all.
This '83 has over $13,000 into it and he claims to have all the papers to show for it.
The only thing that makes it a hard choice is that I would be losing my daily driver(the '88). I would have two "weekend cruisers" and no daily driver. That is my only concern. If I had a winter slider right now, then I would do it in a heart beat!!
I have some pics of this car if anyone cares to check them out. Just let me know or email me and I'll send them you. It really is a nice car!!

the 12.7 @107mph was obtained with only a 1.83 60' Also the car is basically out of the box, nothing has been played with. The carb is box stock and the heads arent even cleaned upI got the car to where it is now 1 month before I had to go to school, so needless to say I didnt have much time to tune it. And this is not some project either, it is a turn key car.
