Question help with pickup coil

could someone give me the run down on how to change the pickup coil in the distributor, and if theirs a way to test it with a multimeter how do you do it.

All you have to do really is knock the pin out of the gear and then have it pressed off on a bearing press...i believe there is one more bushing with a pin through it, then the whole center shaft slides out through the top. 2 or 3 screws and the pickup is out. It isn't very hard...you just need a press. Are you doing this on a stock distributor? You can just buy a new distributor from autozone for $60 and autozone keeps it in stock...just a thought.
