What rear end parts to buy?
The car broke a Moser forged axle last weekend at the track, so I might as well just upgrade the whole rear end so I don't break stuff back there anymore. What stuff will be happy with 5000 rpm launches with 400hp/500tq?
I was planning to upgrade to at least 31 spline axles, though I'd prefer 33 or 35. But that depends of what carrier I get... Does anyone make a strong differential that is streetable w/ 33 or 35 splines? If not, will 31's be ok? I also plan to get a rear end girdle kit and some C clip eliminators. I need something that will be pretty good on the street, but strong enough for some hard launches. I also want something that is rebuildable so I don't have to keep buying new units when they wear out (eg., no Auburn or other gear type diffs...). Do such parts exist? yea 31 spline mosers, or strange axels with a good diff will be nearly industructable..the powertrax diff is good for 1,000hp if a cheap locker is what ur looking for

Strange 31 spline axels with c-clip elims, a auburn pro diff, MAC ta girdle. In my opinion this is a real good set up for a street strip car. P.S. I lauch between 5500-6000 rpm.

Be sure to get the "street" C-clip eliminators. They are a tapered bearing (take side loading) instead of a ball bearing type (do not take side loading).
Strange has this type and they are rebuildable, if you have a hydraulic press. Mike ------------------ Live near St.Louis? Check out Mustang Muscle and Dyno in High Ridge, MO Check out my ride. |

Theres no comparison to the bullet proof Detriot Locker, hell they run them with 800 hp Nascars, and they never break. They are avalibale for 28,31,33, and 35 spline axles I believe.
