I have the A9P in my pony right now. Would i benifit more by swaping it for an A9L or by using the A9P with the JET chip.
Thanks, Adam

I have the A9L in my 93 that you can see below. I "think" it came stock but I'm not sure. What's so great about it that would make you want to buy it?? Oh yeah, don't bother with JET modules.

I think the A9L only came stock in the 89 model year cars. Swap your A9L with my A9P ad see i you dont notice a performance difference. If the JET chips are no good, what kind should i go with if i decide to buy one?

There is really not much of a difference, but the A9P is actually better if anything:
A9P: WOT_ADVANCE_VS_RPM # WOT spark Advance vs RPM ( 16383.8, 26 ) ( 5000, 26 ) ( 3500, 22 ) ( 2600, 23 ) ( 2250, 22 ) ( 1600, 18 ) ( 0, 18 ) ( 0, 18 ) A9L: WOT_ADVANCE_VS_RPM # WOT spark Advance vs RPM ( 16383.8, 26 ) ( 5000, 26 ) ( 3500, 22 ) ( 2600, 22.5 ) ( 2150, 21.5 ) ( 1800, 18.5 ) ( 1000, 8 ) ( 0, 8 ) ( 0, 8 ) |

A9L is for a 5 speed and A9P is for an AOD from the factory. They are interchangeable though...

I beg to differ on the opinion that the A9L and A9P are interchangable, though. The A9P can be used in either a 5 speed or an AOD, BUT, if you try to use the A9L in an AOD Mustang, you will fry it, UNLESS you modify the harness. See, the AOD's have a starting system connection in which, when the key is ON or in the START position, 12 vdc are fed to pin 30 in the ECM connector. You can put the A9P in a 5 speed car because it won't miss the signal, but if you put the A9L into an AOD car, that 12 vdc signal will fry the ECM. So, if that is your only option, make sure to disconnect the wire from pin 30 at the ECM connector. Get it? Take care, ~Chris
