A-Trim or S-Trim????
Ok, here is the deal, everyone. I have $2,000 right now. I was wondering if I should save up and buy an S-trim to run 8# of boost on my combo listed below, or if I should just save some money, but an A-Trim, start @ 5#, and then pulley it up to 8#, or will this HARM the A-Trim???? What do you think I should do? I want to make around 400hp with the blower and my combo listed below.

I don't know a whole lot about blowers, but quite a few people here in MI that I have spoke to said to buy the T-trim. They said that you can make it have as little as 9#'s , but it can go pretty high.
I don't know for sure, but maybe somenone will see this and correct me. This guy only had a 9# pulley on his car, but with his combo it made 14#'s of boost. So remember, you might make more with your combo, if it breathes right. (Am I right that you can make more boost than what is advertised, with a good combo of parts?) Well it all depends on how anxious you are.
I've been in the same boat as you for quite a while. I finally found a used Paxton SN-89 which is basically like an A-trim. I am going to pulley it for 9psi. But it starts at 6 like an A-Trim. This I figure should put me around 400-410hp. Im estimating I haev about 320hp right now. Remember you'll need tuning and other stuff that you wont think of after the S/C install, so it will cost more than just the kit. For me 9psi will be plenty, if I deciede to go for more later I will. I have a line on a T-trim for $1750. With only 11 passes and 1000miles on it. I think the guy still has it, email me if you want it asap. S trim...
I have an A trim and trust me, im kicking my self in the *** for not buying the S trim, I have long block with all the bolt ons changed, and I am going to add a new intake and cam this spring, with the intent of adding upgrading to either an S trim or T trim later, start at the t trim from skyler you will be happy with it at 9 pounds, and you can always buy a 14~17# pulley for the track and prepare for around 450 hp. Start with the bigger blower the A trim can be pullied to 10#'s but its a iron impeller wheel and the rest are billet, and they are much stronger. |

Def. S or T Trim. Never compromise unless you dont think you'll ever have the cash for the S or T.

Another vote for the S-trim. I to bought an A-trim in june of 2000, well it is now on its way back to me after being upgraded to an S-trim. It would have been much cheaper and i would have gotten much more hp with the S-trim because it comes with everything needed to run more boost which i ended up having to purchase seperately for a lot more money.
