![]() They are weaker but in a stock car if you just want to free up some power I say go for it. My 84 had a 7.5 uo until last year. The diameter of the ring gear does make it weaker b/c it has less meat and 7.5 rears run warmer b/c the are smaller and the area of the ring gear has less time to cool but they are decent and I actually liked the posi in my 7.5 alot better than the 1 that's in the new 8.8.
