![]() All of the above are great ideas, I need to look into some of them for theft prevention.
What I currently have (and highly recommend) is a LoJack. It's a little bit expensive ($600-700) but IMO it's worth it. Just for the insurance discount alone. My company, Progressive, gives me 20% off just for having it. That savings is HUGE when you are insuring a V8 mustang (as I am sure you all know!) It does nothing to prevent the theft from occurring, what it does is track the vehicle once it's stolen. A small transmitter is installed somewhere in the vehicle (I don't even know where mine is) It remains dormant until activated. The police activate it when you call them to report the theft. They can then track the car and recover it quickly, hopefully before any damage has been done. Supposedly cars have been recovered after only 15 minutes. Okay... I am starting to sound like a LoJack commercial! Seriously though, it's a good investment and worth looking into. Also - mine was installed at the dealership when my car was bought, it is probably cheaper elsewhere. All the Best, Errant |
