Default anyone use B&M Trick Shift Synthetic ATF

I saw some at a local part store and was wondering if I should use this, or use Mobil 1 Synthetic to fill my tranny. If anyone has any other suggestions, let me know. Thanks, Keith

Avoid Trick Shift. It's overpriced F-Type fluid. Synthetic would be much healthier.

Take care,
~Chris

My brothers camaro went 2 tenths faster with B&M trick shift in the tranny.

He ran 14.10's@96.7 for a whole year. Then he added the trick shift and ran a 13.94@98.18.

That's because it's a GM. They use a tranny fluid which has lubricants in it, whereas F-type doesn't. It makes GM tranny's grab hard. It also eats them up. Used to be an old used car trick. If someone was selling a GM car with the tranny slipping, they'd pour in a couple quarts of F-type, and it worked great! For about a month.

Take care,
~Chris

Default Chris, it's actually a new line of synthetic

They have a new line of B&M trick shift synthetic. Is it worth getting, or is it going to tear my tranny up? If this isn't worth using, what's best to use for a T-5? Thanks, Keith.

Straight from the TTC T-5 service manual:

"APPROVED LUBRICANT- Most T5 transmission models use DexronII ATF. Refer to the vehicle owner's manual or service manual for lubricant specifications. CAUTION: Do Not mix different brands or types of transmission lubricants."

I've used Dyson's Synergen, Mobil 1 ATF, Redline MTL and Mobil 1 0W-30 (emergency). I've never noticed a difference in any one being better than the other. The motor oil even worked fine. Think I might try Royal Purple next time.

Yeah, maybe in an automatic transmission. I'd love to see a 2/10ths gain with any kind of fluid change in a 5spd. Dude, you'd be a millionaire if you discovered that kind of fluid.
