I need someone to take a picture of...
If you have a fox body 5.0 from 87-93 can you please take a picture and post it of your spout connector. I know where it's supposed to be, but I'm thinking maybe it was severed some how and that's why I can't find it. If I had a picture I could look where yours is, to see if mine was cut or who knows, maybe it's something I've seen and I just don't know it. Thanks, Keith.

Keith-
What happens when you follow that yellow/green wire that I told you to trace?

Here's a pic. I use the rods as my tensioner, and the belt goes from the alt, to the underside of the water pump pulley, then to power steering and then to crank and back to alt.

here's another pic. I guess it's a cheap alternative to A/C eliminator brackets. Also requires a shorter belt.

It runs into a big bunch of cables
I have a pic here that IMO shows that I don't have one. I am thinking it was cut off at one point for some reason. How do I insert an image into my post? Thanks, Keith

On this picture I think right where the electrical tape is on the yellow wire, is where the spout connector is supposed to be. Am I right or should I continue to look?

WTF?? I think you're correct.
Check out my post in your tail light thread. Our cars are going to be looking very similar after you paint them. |

Yeah, that pic shows it pretty clear. Someone performed surgery on your poor baby. Check your email.
Dave- Actually, I think it's pretty clever. The only down side is the low amount of belt contact on the crank and water pump. Slipping could occur fairly easily. If possible, you might want to consider going from the alt. straight to the p/s, down to the crank, and wrap around the crank and up and over the water pump (think backwards "S"), then over to the alt. I don't know if you have the clearance to do that, and it would require a longer belt. Just a thought. Still, I'm actually pretty impressed with what you came up with! Take care, ~Chris

Yeah, I got shafted
I took a look at my car this morning and realized what we already figured, the spout connector was cut at one point for some reason. I never had to time my car so I never knew of this in the few months I was actually able to drive it. Here's a picture I took this morning. Thanks for the help, Keith.

The belt is actually quite snug and I've never had a single problem with it. I've removed it a few times for various reasons and the threaded rods are really easy. They never have come loose unexpectedly.
Basically the belt on the pulleys creates a "V" shape when you look at the front of the motor. |
