Bad experience with NOS!
Since 96' I've been building up my 93 LX to properly support a supercharger and still get alot of miles out of my engine. I have spent quite of bit of time and money on the car to see NOS ruin what I've worked so hard on. I say this because of what happened to a friend of mine about 3 years ago. He had a 96' cobra which he did most of the work on including installing a 125 shot NOS system. He had a shop check out his install job and everything checked out good. So off we went to run the car at Rockingham's dragway. On his third run, the nitrious purge or whatever the techincal term is,must have got clogged and sent it back into the engine. The heads were ripped from the block, stripping the head bolts, and sent the heads into the hood. The air intake, throttle body, injectors, distributor and quite a bit of other parts were all mangled and ruined. He had to spend more money to fix the car than he did getting it to point before he took it to the track. That one time put me off ever installing NOS on my car, I'll just go with the supercharger. I'm sure not everyone has had this kind of bad experience, I guess I'm worried this will happen to me and I sure as hell don't want that. Sorry my story was so long. Later.

well this goes back to the old saying if you don't know how to use nitrous you have no business messing with it I have used nitrous on 10+ cars and have never broken or destroyed anything I have had it on bone stock mustangs and highly modified stangs you must always tune it to ensure the jetting is right before taking it to the track and hammering it but no matter how many times you tell people this they just don't listen and continue to blow up motors it all really falls back on ignorance if you know what your doing you will be fine but if you don't have a clue leave it alone or have a professional hook it up and tune it then don't mess with the jetting.

Nitrous doesn't blow **** up..stupid people blow **** up. What happened to your buddy could happen to anyone. I'm not calling him stupid by any means. I've run nitrous for a LONNG time. I've only had one problem with nitrous and that was my fault. I didnt' check the fuel lines before the run and it caught my motor on fire when i sprayed it. But anyways, i haven't had anymore troubles whatsoever. And i spray enough to supply everybody in a mall parking lot some. So just be careful with how you use it and tune and you'll be fine. Don't be afraid of it.

nitrous
Yeah, most dry systems that provide a 75-150hp. shot, come with a fuel psi. sensor, which detects if the fuel pressure drops to low to compensate for the extra nitrous going into the motor. If the fuel pressure drops below something like 85psi., it will stop the flow of nitrous into the engine. It's a pretty fool-proof system as long as you have a fuel pump that pumps the adequate amount of volume like a 190lph or additional inline pump.
