I'm going to be replacing my engine mounts and the tranny mount with some new polyurathane ones and was wondering if anyone had some helpful suggestions so I dont have to hard of a time cause right now my engine is so unstable the fan is hittin the shroud.

i try to stay with the one less harder in the tranny technique..basically if you run polyurathane motor mounts then run rubber trans mount..if you run solid motor mounts then run polyurathane or rubber trans mounts..i say this becasue i have seen many tmies poeple who put polyurathen trans bushings in and run rubber motormounts and they end up cracking the casing on the bellhouseing/tranny becase the tranny cant move like the motor can

the above post is more geared towards poeple who do alot of drag or beat on there car constanly..
the motor mounts i usally used were oem convertable mounts.they sit slightly lower but the main reason is they are stiffer...now i run solids up front with rubber trans

I didn't find it too hard when I replaced my motor mounts with energy suspension ones
you have to unbolt the shroud (fan will hit when you raise the engine) and then unbolt the motor mounts, jack up the motor just enough to slide out the old mounts and slide the new ones in. I never had to unbolt anything else. well come to think of it I had the h-pipe off for some other reason but I don't think it has to come off. The bolts that are used to hold the engine to the mounts are locking bolts (sort of triangular shape, have a look at them I'm not joking) so I needed a 2 foot piece of pipe on the end of a rachet to break them loose. i KNOW THIS USUALLY GOES WITHOUT SYAING BUT BE SURE NOT TO JACK IT UP ON THE OIL PAN. I run the solids up front the the poly for the tranny. Good Luick!

do NOT jack it up by the oil pan. You need to use an engine hoist and support it from above.

If you use the oil pan make sure you use a piece of wood to even the load under the pan, I've done it a bunch of times with no probs. Just be careful! Good luck, My motor mounts were a PITA!

I don't know if it's the greatest but I jacked it up by the balancer and everything worked out fine
I didn't have the means of supporting it from above and didn't want to jack it by the pan, there isn't much else down there

My poly trans mounts came in yesterday. For the front I welded plates on the stock mounts blasted and painted them. I also got poly cross member bushings. XL LX R8R I drag race and BEAT ON IT DAILY
