Default What cam with this combo?

Ok, so come this spring I'm putting in some mods but im not sure what, if any, cam i should put in there with it.

I'll be running pulleys, 65mm tb, gt40 upper/lower intake, gt40 heads, off road h-pipe, t-5 tranny.

I still haven't purchases the heads/intake, there the big mod for this spring. I have everythign else on the car though. When i put the heads/intake on the car, should i replace the cam with something a bit bigger or should i leave it stock? I figure since I'll have the entire upper end of the engine apart, i mine as well replace it. Whats your opinions, keeping in mind im doing this on a severly limited budget. The car is used as a daily driver, with a visit to the track every now and again. But i want to get some balls in it. Thanks for the help guys.

I'm probably going to be keeping the stock rockers on there, so how big of a cam can i go w/ them and the stock pistons on a ported and polished gt40s?

I think the limit on lift is around .540, but don't qoute me on that. I would not run a cam that "big" with your combo though. The stock cam should work pretty well for what you have.

BTW, I am going to eat some rice at E-town next sunday, Nov 3rd, During the "high tech imports vs American muscle" event.

Theres so many cams out there to pick from. with a 3.55 or 3.73 gear the E-303 makes killer lowend and midrange power to 5500.

The B cam w/ 1.7s makes killer power to red line but doesnt kick in till about ~3000.

well the theres racers who get 12's with still the stock cam with the right combo, but IMO i'd look into B-303, E-303, or the steeda #18 cam isnt bad either, all good street cams

Whats better cuz i normally shift right about 5500 right now. So would it be better for an idle to 5 grand cam or a mid range(3000) to redline cam? I mean once your racing your up above 3grand anyway right.

Anyone have there racing numbers yet? I'll be driving a blue/purple 89 lx hatchback. i believe my number is 4067 or something like that... come find me.
