the T-5 tranny's from 85-89 were the first world class T-5's but they were only rated at 265 ft-lbs. The 90-93's used a different alloy for the gearsets and were rated at 300 ft-lbs. The T-5 Z spec was rated even higher at like 310 I think.
Some people get lucky and thier tranny holds up to plenty of abuse. Other people bust thiers after only a couple passes i'ts up to you but slicks are the hardest thing on these weaker trannys
