Default Need help identifying a set of heads...

I was told that these heads are gt-40 heads so i am assuming they are gt-40P becase they are iron. The only marking i can see while they are on the car is where GT is stamped above #1 cylinder. Are these gt-40 p heads?

thanks for the help

They are regular GT-40 heads. GT-40p heads will say GTP instead.

Default GT marking

Where did you see that "GT" marking? I am going to be trying to help a friend determine if he has GT-40 heads tommorow. I would assume you mean with the valve cover off and above the springs? Let me know where exactly you saw it. Chris, feel free to chime in too. I know that you are raising your hand and saying... oooh I know!

Looking at the head from the fender (either side), there will be a small raised "GT" underneath the left-most exhaust port, just to the right of the lower head bolt that is at the very left end. Leave the valve covers alone.

Take care,
~Chris

(do I get to go home early, teacher?)
