The torque spec on the lower intake is more than 10-15lbs... more like 20-24 ft. lbs. going through them all, in sequence, until they are all properly torqued (I usually go through about 4-5 times to be sure) ...It's never a bad idea to go back through them once the motor has been through a few heat cycles, though I rarely ever do.
The upper should be torqued also, not as critical as the lower however, just make sure they are all tightened evenly... the upper is also 20-24 ft. lbs. I go 24 on the lower and 20 on the upper... Do yourself a BIG favor and get a Haynes or equiv. manual with all of the factory torque specs and tightening sequences for future reference. If you buy aftermarket ARP fasteners, follow the instructions/torque specs that are included them, as they sometimes call for a different spec (head studs/bolts, for example). |
