			 Well Ive started to kinda sorta peice together in my mind what I want my next project ot be maybe.. ( in as indecisive as a woman on these things ) Anyways, Will a 17x9 Wheel fit ont oa 86 Fox body thats been lowered? If so, what tire size should be run. Ive seen the Wheels on Foxes alot and am not set on gettign Cobra R's but there's an 86 NOtch I can get and do a street car out of this time instead of a car I gotta haul everywhere ( that sucks btw ). 			 Well, I have/had a lowered fox and I have Cobra R's (17x9) so your in luck  
		
	
		
		
		
		
		
		
		
		
		
	
	  I'm running 245-45-17 on all four. Any bigger in the front, you'll get rubbing. When my car was lowered, I had to roll the fender lips inside just a little bit. I used a small hammer and curled them myself. When ever I hit a large bump, the tire would go up in the wheel well and rub on the lip    The rears are fine.  I didn't have to do any modifications to it.  I raised my car back up to stock height for drag racing reasons.  Also, keep this in mind....  If your running 2" or bigger drop, AND and alunium drive shaft... the drive shaft will rub on the tunnel.  Ran into that problem as well ![]()  |

			 You shouldn't... the alunium DS is larger then the stock steel one.  You will have to adjust your snuber that goes above the rear end.  I just took mine out entirely.  They make an adjustiable one.

			 Run 255/40/17's...they look a lot better on the 9 in wheels.  The wheels may rub a bit on the lower control arms in the front with the steering wheel turned all the way, but nothing you cant live with...

			What did you do to cure the problem with the AL DS rubbing? I'm going through the exact same problem. I was thinking about raising the car back up, but I may just say forget it and sell the AL DS and put the stock one back in. MidNiteBlu 5.0, your car looks lower than just 1.5 in. Do you think the car settled a little lower?

			 1.5" is about optimal for street driving.  Any lower and you get negative bumpsteer characteristics. 
		
	
		
		
		
		
		
		
			Best way is to BORROW someone's wheels/tires and do an exact fit. The Cobra R's come in R58 and M179 with 5.95 and 6.45 backspacing. I personally run 275-40-17's on 9-1/2" wheels, but that took a LOT of work!!! ![]()

			 After I found out that the Alumiun DS hit, I put the stock snuber back on.  Then I noticed that there was bout 1/2" of travel between the snuber and the rear end.  Ride was real rough.  I then raised the rear end with stock 4 cyl springs.  The rubbing stopped. 			 I have a '90 coupe with 17x9's and am running 255/40/17 on the front and 275/40/17 on the back. I had to roll the rear lip slighty for clearance if i ride 4 around on cruze night, Other then that they clear good even taking HARD corners. I have H&R race springs.
