I have a 93 GT with the regular pony rims. I want chrome ponies. Was going to sell what I have and buy what I want but a buddy told me I could get my regular ones polished instead. Has anyone had that done? can it even be done? If so, how do they look?

I'm not sure what it would cost, but if you don't feel like going through the ordeal, pony's get a good resale value to help offset the cost of the chromes

How expenseve is either. When I think powder coating I think a dull black finish that you put on engin parts. I guess I'm wrong. What exactly is it?

My car is black. IMO, white rims would look gay. I think I know what powder coated looks like. Black, but real shiny?

different strokes for different folks I guess Pony's look ok white when the car is red but other than that I think they should be chrome, polished or silver satin.

Go to your local rim shop, or look in MMFF magazine, and check some of the rim ads. Some of them sell chromed ponies. I remember a while back you could send some rim shops your rims and they'll send you back some chromed pony rims. That used to cost approx $550.

Is that your Green Stang? Chromed would look nice on that. I used to have a 92 and a 93 that color.

Well, I found a guy that can polish the rims for $350. Unfortunately, I would need centercaps. He had'm for 50 bucks a pop! Thats 200 for freakin center caps. If I can find a set of centercaps for a sane price then I'll do it. If not, I guess I'll have to put my ponies up for sale.

You could save $250 if you were willing to put a little elbow grease into it and polish them yourself. The powder coating comes off rather easy with aircraft stripper (Auto Zone), and some 3M ScotchBright pads.

dark what color is your car gonna be or is? I think black powdercoated with a polished lip is my favorite finish now. Id do it to mine but i dont think it would look all that great on a blue car.

I love how that finish looks on a white or red or black car. Looks freakin awesome ![]()

I saw a black notchback w/black ponies last year. I also saw a black sn95 w/black cobra R's, both looked tough as nails. PAINT THEM BLACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DARK5.0, where are you getting them done at. I haven't really looked into it yet, I was just gonna check the phonebook for powdercoating, but I'd rather go somewhere I know is gonna do a good job.
