Default Exhaust...

I have Mac shorty headers on my car right now. I'd like to buy an off road h-pipe, but I'm not sure which one will fit. Please let me know, thanks, Keith

All of the advertised 87-93 off road pipes will fit, but remember you will get what you pay for. BBK has a nice fit with off road pipes, Bassani is just about the best on the market at this time.

I would spend the extra money and get an X-pipe.

Go X-pipe with your supercharger. I got mine off of ebay for 70 bucks.

Default with an X-pipe

will it fit up there without any mods to anything (hangers)? Will it fit along with my flowmasters and shorty headers? Thanks, Keith

I bought the summir off road H pipe... i was going to install it myself, my dad works at a replair shop, so I'd be able to throw it on the lift, no problem right? ... I didnt have time to do it.. so I did some work for my dad and in exchange he had one of the other guys throw it on for me.... they said it was the crappiest pipe ever... the hangers were welded on backwards and the H connector didnt line up.. they had to cut off the hangers, and reweld them on, and then extrude the pipe to fit... the moral of the story is, you might be better off with a good brand then trying to save money with a cheap one... I would have done the work myself, and I would have been anoyed, I'm sure... now imagine all of that work, while laying on your back

CHunkFunky, they might have sent you the wrong pipe, I know Excessive Motorsports is famous for doing that. Even when it's in the right box with the right instructions. Go figure.

You should always perform exhaust mods on a drive on lift or with the suspension under a normal load that is level, exhaust is cranky when installed any other way and tends to produce leaks and loose bolts quick. Good luck

And yes stay away from the cheap stuff anyway, like flowtech, I tried them twice giving them the benifit of the doubt and was let down both times. You will get what you pay for.

Default damn, thanks

I wasn't planning on getting a "cheap" pipe, but thanks for the warning. Take care, Keith

Go with the Bassani X-pipe for quality. I purchased the BBK X-pipe and was dissapointed with the quality of the welds. I did not expect popcorn welds on a $400 product.

The pipes fit and work great, it's the quality of the welds I was not happy with.

Dude, I don't know about anyone else with MAC shorties, but, I have unequal length shorties from MAC and I had to cut my Bassani o/r X and tighten up the pipe to the header. Once tight, I had to weld a sleeve over the gap in the x-pipe. I don't know if that was just my luck or if they just don't fit right together. Regardless, I'm very happy with my x-pipe now that it is in and serving its purpose.

i had the same problem with the summit h-pipe. THe hangers were on backwards so i had to grind them off and then the pipe was over 2 inches short. Also the first time they sent it, it didn't have o2 holes drilled in it so i had to send it back and get another one that didn't fit....
