I'd go with a quick, cheap spray paint job. Just on the lower side of the car should do. The problem with primer is it absorbs water and will cause your car to rust FAST in the cold weather. If you don't want the car to look funny with a halfass paint job then use some flat clear.

At least do the areas behind each wheel.
