![]() Ok, I went back to the track yesterday with the following having been added since the last time I was out:
4.10's, 90/10's, 505's, subframes, front swaybar removed. My previous best run at this track was a 13.88 @ 96.6 with a 1.81 60'. The best I pulled off yesterday was a 13.81 @ 98.07 with a 1.860 on that run, and a best 60' of 1.821. All 7 of my runs had a 1.8xx 60' time so I was very consistent with those. 3 of my runs were 13.814 @ 98.07, 13.816 @ 98.02, and 13.836 @ 98.01. To me these were pretty consistent runs, but not what I was hoping for on an overall gain. I was running the 3.55's prior to this. After thinking about it, I feel happier with the consistency of the car, rather than hitting a 13.6 like I wanted. Do these new times sound right, along with the consistancy, for the mods that I added, or do you think something may be wrong? Keep in mind I am running at 4,100 feet, so the times will be slower than what most think they should be. The best run corrected for sea level would have been a 13.11 @ 103.xx. Any input is greatly appreciated. Chris

![]() Sorry, forgot to add that I am running Goodyear 27x10x15 stock tire slicks. I don't think they are 10" wide, because I had them sitting next to some 26x10.5x15 ET Streets and these Goodyears made the ET's look like spare tires.

![]() Even though the 60ft were close to the same, did it seem to be spinning worse?

![]() It did feel as if the tires were breaking loose a little more than they used to, but I had these bigfoot tires mounted on my 10 holes, and I didn't feel safe running the 11psi as it was, let alone a little less. These tires are a fairly hard compound, so there didn't seem to be much give. But I absolutley loved the way the car launched with the 90/10's and the sway bar gone!

![]() It is possiable to have spun worse with the new gear, and wind up with a 60ft close to before and not acually pick up and ET. You think you like the launch, put some 4cyl springs up front, you will be cleaning your pants.

![]() Exen with you being @ 4100 ft your times seem slow to me. Specifically your mph.
The altitude density of the air at West Texas Raceway Park is anywhere from 2800-6000ft depending on the conditions. I was running a 13.66 @102mph in a convertible 88GT with bolt ons gears and ported heads @3000ft. Something doesnt seem right to me. Where in NM are you Odessa is close to the New Mexico border

![]() I am in Las Cruces, the southern part of the state. We took a GPS out to the track to get our elevation. I actually have some 4 cyl springs, but because my spring isolators were shot, we didn;t put them in. As soon as I buy some new ones, I'll throw these on the car. I think the times are kind of slow too, but its not off much from what other cars run compared to what they should run. A buddy has a Z-06 and the best he has pulled off is like a 12.9. The car feels like it runs out of breath just after 5000 rpm, so thats where I shift. Any other ideas?

![]() How much boost are you getting out of your Super charger @4100ft?

![]() On a good cold day, I am lucky to see about 4.5 psi. I added a smaller blower pulley (1/4") and that brought it up to the 4.5 psi. I was seeing about 4 psi before that.

![]() Man that explains alot. Knowing that your only getting 4.5 lbs of boost. Your times do sound about right.

![]() See, and with that being said, I don't think the conversion times would be right either. Yes its a rough estimate, but I don't think the conversion takes into account for boost either. I just need to get the car to sea level and make a few runs. I could only imagine how much fun that would be. I know there is quite a difference when I drive to visit my parents and they're at about 1300 ft.

![]() Yeah most guys are able to achieve 8-10 psi of boost with a Novi 1000 and a pulley.
Ever think of this, Nitrous is great for us guys at a high elevation. Oxygen is a buy product of Nitrous which pretty much negates the fact that you are at 4100ft. Nitrous knocks off a butt load of time at high elevation. My brother knocked a second off of his best ET with a 50 shot. Thats the route I am going,
