post your opinion on paint

i am getting ready to paint my engine bay and
need to figure out what paint sceme for sure
so i can match it i am going with a dark metallic blue, and black for sure,
should the black be in front of the car or the blue. scallops (staggered) or flame,
from front to back, should i cut them in straight or angled thin at top thick at bottom. anybody with links to picks of such car. its a 89 lx will probly put on short prostreet hood scoop will have minnie tubs.
