I got the same problem in my 90 GT. The squeek increases in frequency as your speed increases. I tried to lube where the speedo cable enters the gauge cluster but that didn't work. I've just learned to live with it since my tends to come and go. Any other ideas/solutions??

Mine used to do that. It is possible that you may need to pull the gauge cluster out and disconnect the speedo cable and put some grease on the cable itself. It helps. If that doesn't work but it goes away and then comes back you may need a new speedometer cable. I have a new cable and I don't have the squeek anymore. If it's not that then I don't have any idea how to help. Sorry and good luck.

Bryan,
I don't remember how much it cost. I am thinking that it would be no more than $30-40. It has been a while since I bought it. Sorry. Here are some websites to go to.

www.50resto.com
www.nextgenparts.com/mustang

Hope this helps
Brent
