radio interference
I have this noise that rises and falls with rpm. Doesnt change if i turn lights on or off. Im assuming its from the alternator. Any know how to stop this? Do i need a new alternator? it seems to be charging properly. thanks

Did you solder all your wire connections or twist and tape them. I had the same problem in my old '84 when I installed new speakers. After I soldered all the wiring, the hum went away.

there is a radio interferance filter that you can get at auto zone for a few bucks and it installs between the battery + and the radio\cdplayer and filters out the sound from the alternator. some cars need it some dont. and if it dosnt fix the problem then you can always return it.

Could be a bad ground wire on the radio.

Its an all stock mach 460 till tommorow. Im putting in a JVC. Does this alternator have a capacitor in it? i know a bad capacitor can cause it.

you know the funny thing is they say these alternators are garbage in the fox bodies, but i was running 4 10's plus interiors plus i was charging to batterys one in the hatch and one under the hood. I never had a problem till this day i ran 0 gauge wire through out the car aswell. But when my ground cam loose on my battery terminal then i started to have the same problem that you are talking about.
