Oil Leaks ?
Has anyone had a problem with oil leaking out of the check oil light sensor, which is the low oil level sensor that is positioned in the side of a stock sump. There is a large metal fitting that the sensor goes into, can you take this out? is there an o ring in there for sealing? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Are you talking about the plug in the side of the oil pan?

Yes, its the plug in the drivers side of the oil pan, there is a wire going into it and thats where I am loosing oil. I noticed that it was dripping yesterday and left a small puddle of oil about 3 inches in diameter. Hopefully its just a O ring that needs changing.

I believe you can get a new gasket for the check-oil sensor in the oil pan. Goto your Ford dealer and get a gasket next time you change your oil.

Chris:
Glad I could help - I'm not an expert on this forum - but a few things my son and I have experienced. There are many others on this forum that have a ton of knowledge and have helped my son and I a lot! |
