I have an 89 convertible...

as for the radar detector... I have a cordless (battery) operated one.. and I havent used it in years...once you get gears you wont be driving as fast anyway.. I just gave up on it.. too many false alarms... it's liek a car alarm, after a while you start to ignore it

as for the shift kit... with the stock engine you wont really feel much... the stock engine starts to loose power before it'll shift... once you start putting some mods on then it'll help out... the whole auto manual debate comes up a bit... I think with a more or less stock engine you'd be faster with the manual... but as you start to get some serious HP then the auto will give you more consistant times, cause it allways shifts at the same point and it shifts faster then a manual.
