Cool Toulene/Xylene?

I did some research on Toulene/Xylene and i was wondering if anyone has used it on their cars?

Was their any side effects?

What ratio did you mix in?

The only reason I ask is I see alot of big oil companies seem to like to use it alot.

Thanks for your guy's and girl's feedback.

I would just like to see what other people's results are before I go testing it on my stang

I forget where but on one of the grandnational sites there was a formula for mixing xylene/toulene with gas to make your own high octane mixture.

Well today I got pure Toulene and Xylene from a chemist friend of mine. I tried a 10% with a tank of 92 octane. It was on my daily driver(92 Ford Ranger 4.0Litre with 150,000+miles) and it worked great. You can totally tell the difference. The truck idles smoother and excelerates alot faster.

Just thought I would let you guys and gals know how it went, in case you want to try it. Next I'm tring it on the mustang.

Later

sorry what i meant to say is people have posted their experience before and you might be able to find something if you did a search.

i acctually learnt somethings when people were discussing this and found out that at low boost my car runs best with regular gas

no detination best power.

octane booster work when there is a detination problem or your advancing the timing at the track.

great to hear it worked for you.

where in alberta are you ?.

I have run vp racing gas when cranking the boost and it does seam to help. on the street because of the boost retard it doesnt matter as much for my set up. but we are setting up a car for the wife and will be looking into octane help also.

Thanks for the reply BilLster

I live in Morinville, Alberta(just north of edmonton about ten miles).

Since my truck has quite a bit of miles on it, it had some detination. But it seemed to disappear since I put the mixture in.

The mix I used is suppose to take my 92 octane and bump it to 98 octane, which is more then any octane boosters do. That is as high octane I am going to go with me daily driver. The mustang, I might go a little higher

XYLENE

This is a chemical used for residential painting, but it has a purpose in the racing industry also. It makes racing fuel. Now I will list the mixing ratio for a mustang using 12 gallons of fuel. Why only 12 gallons instead of 15 gallons which it takes to fill a mustang, the reason is that going to the track and launching a mustang you should always leave the tank short by 3 gallons so that you do not force gas back into the return line or the charcoal filter. The mixture I will be showing will give 101 Octane Home Made Race Fuel. This mixture will not harm oxygen sensors or catalytic converters. I myself have used this mix and so has a couple hundred GN Regal Turbo cars in the last 3 years. Enough of the talk and now for the mixture and a generic break down on price per gallon.

XYLENE 3 gallons $24.00

93 Octane 9 gallons $13.00

Marvel Mystery Oil 2 oz $ .63 16oz $5.00

Total $37.63

Price Per Gallon Approx. $3.14 Gallon
