Default diagnostic test

has anyone ever seen the home diagnostic testing unit that they sell at sears? if so, does anyone know how well they work? i was thinking about picking one up so i would just like alittle info.

They should be a plug and play type thing. It should also come with directions.

If you are talking about the small hand held one that you can also get at some wal-marts, there are two different ones. They both serve the same purpose, but one has a blinky light that you have to count to get a number and than look at your book that is with it, or there is one that has a digital face on it that gives you the number, which is way easier than hopiing you counted the blinks right.

ya it was the one that had a blinking light, but i will look for the other one also. so you think that it would be worth getting? that it actually reads and sends you correct codes?

I bought one and have used it with luck. The digital is a little more desirable, but they both work well. It is money well spent in my opinion.
