Default Now I'm confused...help please.

I just received some 3.73's that I purchased from an ebay store. They came in two boxes and I thought "One box for the pinion and one box for the ring.

I open them both up and lo and behold, there is a ring and pinion set in each box...Now, I've never replaced my gears, but if I'm not mistaken, the rear only takes one ring and pinion set...am I correct?

Both pinion shafts are stamped 3.73 and one of them has the good old ford oval on it.

Would someone care to take a stab at explaining what I got?

Thanks

FT

Well........ lemme think, you got two sets of gears. I'd hold on to them for a while amd of nothing comes of it resell them.

Well, you see, that's what I thought as well, but then I thought..."Nahhh, things like this don't happen to me...Unless you count the brand new BBK ceramic longtubes and matching offroad short H I got for $285...Then again, I did dish out $300 for an Explorer upper, lower, and 65mm throttle body.

I guess it all just averages out...

Well, we'll see what comes of it.

Thanks

FT
