What to Look for on 83' Mustang V8 engine?
Hi everyone I am new here. I am looking at a Zimmer which is basically built on a Mustang chassis. It has an 83' V8 302 Mustang engine in it. I was wondering what I should look for when test driving etc. Anything specific to this year, engine? I repair my own cars that I currently own. When I test drove it I noticed that when first started it would stall and need some blipping of the throttle to get it to stay lit. Does this year have an auto choke on the carb? Would this indicate it is out of adjustment or in need of a carb rebuild? Also it has been sitting for sometime are there any items that I should also look for? I would appreciate any info. Thanks.

I would guess that the choke is just out of adjustment but it might end up that the carb will need a rebuild.

The 84 mustang used a holley 4 barrel, and i believe the 83 did as well. should be easy to fix.
