From what I've read, Holly heads are only OK. Flow about like Edelbrock Performers. Everyone I know says to get TrickFlow Twisted Wedge or AFR. They seem to be better for street performance from what I hear. Go to Fordmuscle .com and read their "Head to Head" comparison article. Very enlightening. I'm gonna get either stage I TFTW or CNC ported AFR when I upgrade the heads. My $.02.

They are ok, but there are better heads for the money out there like the TFS or canfield or AFR.
There is a mustang in Jacksonville fl that has the same mods but with different brands. He has the systemax package in a '95 model and I can walk him by about 3 car lengths. We stopped and talked about what we had and we are very evenly matched as far as components. BTW his has been tuned and mine has not so I would say they are good heads but there are better heads for the money. I have the canfields and I love them. ------------------ James Cox nochevy@hotmail.com 1991 Mustang LX Best 1/8 time on motor 7.686 @90.20mph |

the reason i ask about these heads is cause in MM&FF there is a place that has a package deal Heads,intake,injectors,headers,MAF,Cam......and the heads that come with the package are stage 2 ported Holley heads....the only other prob with this package is it comes with headers and i already have full exhaust so i might be able to exchange them for something else.....see what im saying about the heads now?

They have a deal on the canfields also, that is where I got mine. Maybe you can exchange the heads and headers for the canfields and it might cost a little more but the stage 1 canfields out flow the stage 2 Holley heads.
The only down side is there non-emissions heads and if you get the 2.02 1.60 valves and any aftermarket cam you will need to fly cut the pistons. Mine would barely clear with 1.7 rockers and stock cam. If you get any heads I would recommend to get the smaller valves if you want to run a big cam and do not want to fly cut the pistons. I don't think you can go wrong either way, you will notice a difference with either heads you choose. There are 4 different Holley heads, 1.9 x 1.6-17 degree stud mount, 1.9 x 1.6 17 degree pedastal mount both of these heads are made by Brodiz for Holley, then there are the new 20 degree heads which are machined my AFR for Holley they are available in the 1.9 x 1.60 stud mount, and the 2.02 x 1,6 stud mount. I have the 2.02 20 degree heads on my car and I have the flow numbers they are a good head and have the wonderful AFR machining. I was talking with Ed Curis about these heads and he said they are good heads, but could be a little better if you take a little more of the sharp corner radius out a little more but he would pick then over a Edelbrock, or Wedge head but that was his opinion but he does favor the AFR's as the top head out right now. Make sure you know what heads you are getting I was really surprised when mine cam with 2.02 valves, I believe I was the first one to recieve the 20 degrees heads and I still haven't met or talked with any one else that has these. I have 62.1cc chambers.
