Quietest performance mufflers.
I would like my 5.0 to be as quiet as possible without being restricted.
Most people want to be loud but I want my car as quiet as possible. I already have a 2 1/2 O/R H-pipe on the car that I got dirt cheap so I am gonna use it. I would like to get away from flowmasters. My car is a de-badged LX that looks very un-intimidating and I dont want a loud exhaust to kill the whole sleeper concept. Post up guys is it possible to have a quiet 5.0.

Dark_5.0,
I'm with you on the FlowMasters! IMO, they are about the worst sounding muffler on the market. They have kind of a UPS truck sound (yuck).... I still don't get why so many people use them! I have a pair of Walker DynoMax mufflers on mine. They're not too loud but instead give a nice deep, throaty, performance sound. Walker claims they're only 2 decibels above the stock system. (I'm sure that's with the cats installed) I had a custom muffler shop install just the mufflers but Walker makes a kit that replaces everything from the H-Pipe back and it's not really too expensive! It might be worth looking into the Walker Kit, and it's something you can probably do right in your driveway. Phil |

They Dynomax super turbos are one of the quietest and best flowing mufflers out there. Have them on my car and they give a nice sound but quiet enough for the neighbors.

I agree with my Super Turbo Cat back on my car I was going to replace them with some REAL mufflers. Then I dropped the stock H-pipe in favor of an off road pipe and, well, then they got pretty load.
Put with the cats on they were VERY close to stock sound. |
