Smog pump delete........Any ET gain????
I am looking for all of the free horsepower that I can get for all of you that have used a short belt and routed around the smog pump ...
Did you see any ET gains????? THANKS... ------------------ 88 mustang gt convertible bored to 306 BBk equal length headers mac cold air fender kit 3.73 FMS gears cowl hood nitto drag radials ford racing clutch flow masters h-pipe 160* thermostat 16 degrees of timing electric fan off 94' t-bird jacobs electronics cap and wires. Edelbrock 1 1/2 inch drop springs. |

Bypassing the smog pump wouldn't be noticeable. If you have cats, you will eventually notice the loss caused by their clogging up.

If you live where emmisions are not checked, you can eleminate the cats and go to a offroad H-pipe configuration (for offroad use only, --wink, wink). You can eliminate the smog pump with an idler pulley from www.windsor-fox.com ,part number IDL-SP, and still use your stock length serpintine belt.
