Which electric fan is best?
I am looking into a Lincoln MKVIII electric fan to put in my 91 LX. I have a stroker motor. I have an old 16" electric off a Taurus which is barely adequate. Any suggestions would be appreciated. - Gary

I know Turdburner (tireburner) would disagree with me but I love my Black Magic fan. It is a 15" fan and blows 2800cfm. I have a stroked motor too and I have never had a problem with it over heating. You also might want to look into getting a small push fan for infront of the AC condensor and radiator. This will help with air flow.

I agree with cyberstang5.0, i like the fan too
I havent had any problems with mine except the t-stat knob came off, but i can still adjust it fine. So, many here think the bm is trash, and that you will overheat, well those people might of had the fan hooked up backwards and had the fan blowing reverse lol, because if 2800 cfm isnt enough to stay cool, than the motor has other problems. my .02 |

I love the Ramchargers Dual 12" Electric Fan kit. I've never had a cooling problem with it yet. Always runs cool even in 100* and high humidity sitting in a drive thru. A friend has one on a 68 Camaro with a 510 cid and aluminum rad, runs nice and cool too.
The Mark 8 fan is an awesome fan setup, but requires a stronger alternator than stock and some interesting wiring, but not that difficult at all.

I just put the bm fan on about three weeks ago and I love it. I haven't had any problems at all, even running my a/c on max and I live near sacramento, where it has been around 105 degrees for the last several day.

Fan choices
Well, I have had 4 different fan setups so far.
Stock belt driven fan... works fine, but I hate the way it looks and it takes up too much room. SPAL 16" electric fan... Italian made super small fan that moved serious air. Cooled my car fine, but someone offered me $150 for it so I decided to get a different one. Taurus fan... Most powerful of all, but pulled 80 amps when it came on and 40+ continous. I have a 130 amp alternator and it couldn't keep up with the A/C and all accessories on. Overkill for me. Requires a serious relay or circuit breaker to avoid burning up fuses. Proform Electric fan... Exact copy of the Black Magic fan for $120. This is the current fan that I have on the car now. Very good quality. Basically, it gives me everything I am looking for. VERY low amp draw (13 amps), 2800 CFM, built in adjustable thermostat, easy disconnect wiring, etc.... That gives you a little info on each one.

Thanks for all the input
I will be researching this a bit more...I am leaning toward configuring a karge OEM type fan, maybe a police crown vic fan. I already have a 3g alternator, I will just have to wire in a good high amp relay.

Hmm, I'd have to say my electric fan is the best...for sale, only $20! I might be a little biased. You dont want my fan anyways. It's BARELY adequate for cooling a V8...which is why I'm selling it dirt cheap.
