Anyone using a Demon Carb?
I'm gonna replace my Holley 650DP soon, and want to get a BG Demon (road demon 625 or Speed Demon 650). Any thoughts? Anyone do an upgrade? How do you like your demon vs. your holley?

I don't know first hand how much better a demon carb would be, but a friend of mine put a speed demon 650 on his slomaro, and it was a big improvement. I am going to run two mighty demon 650s in my 70 mach 1. I have heard of more and more people running demons and I haven't heard anything but good stuff about them.

I haven't used one, but I hear they're supposed to be bad*ss.
If I can end up fixing my van soon I'm gonna either get a Speed Demon or a Mighty Demon 650.

I have a 650 Speed Demon and I like it now. When I originally purchased it I had problems but I don't necessarily blame the manufacturer. When I received it from Summit the video in the shipping box was smashed. I put the tape onto another vhs tape I had laying around but thought about returning the shipment. I looked it over real close and didn't notice any damage. After installing it on the car it seemed to run ok at first then ran progrossively worse. I couldn't dial it in and another guy I know had a similar problem. Last winter I totally disassembled it for a rebuild to see what if anything was wrong. Apparently you can use most of the parts from a holley 4150 rebuild kit but Demon didn't exactly come out and say that's ok. Summit couldn't find the correct rebuild kit from Barry Grant for a Speed Demon but thought the 4150 kit would be ok. Anyhow, after the rebuild the carb is much better. My friend that had a similar problem also rebuilt his carb and is very happy with it. Overall I'd say it's a good product. There is also a lot more tech info out on these carbs than there was a few years ago so troubleshooting is a little better. Most articles that do comparison tests (dyno runs) with different manufacturers carbs show the Demon carbs making more power with the same CFM rating. The quality of construction is also top of the line.

Well I got my carb yesterday. It is a really sweet piece!!!! The tape that was with it did a good job at explaining basic tuning. I couldn't get over the size of the King Demon (Holley Dominator type) compared to a normal sized carb, that thing is huge. I'm putting it on today and will let you know how it runs!!
