Stroked 351
What combinations should I use to make 500-550 n/a rwhp out of a stroked 351.....408, 418......It will be high compression and plan on running nitrous, and it will be carbed!
Any suggestions or thoughts are appreciated |

408 Forged rotating assembly from Scat. Victor Jr heads and intake. That should meet your goal easy with high compression. How big of a shot are you going to run? ~Brian

What do you mean exactly by "high compression"? Do you mean 10.5:1 and pump gas, or do you mean 15:1 and C16? There's a big difference there...

Some where around 13:1 to 15:1, thats what i meant by high compression.
I plan to run somehwere around a 200 shot. My combo that i thought would work was a scat forged crank and rods(408), je forged pistons, trick flow r series heads heavely ported with a ported victor jr., not to sure what size carb, and a large custom cam. How does that sound? |

Sounds like a decent combo to me. I think it should run well as long as you have a well matched cam for the set-up. Of course, you can either cam it more biased towards naturally aspirated duty or towards the spray probably. I'd base that on whether it's going to be street driven much or mostly track. With that compression though it sounds to me it'll be a track mill basically. I'm not a knowledgeable carb person, as my background is all EFI knowledge based. So, perhaps some others can give you advice there...

It will be a daily driven car! I dont care how modded a car is or how hot it runs on the street etc. it will be street driven because it isnt worth having money stuck in a car you cant drive. The motor I have now ran low 11's with a 5 speed and it has since received an automatic which will hopefully put it in the hi 10's on the spray. With this new motor my goal will be mid 10's on motor and hi 9's on spray.
