Default Replacing Transmission

Hello all I broke my T-5 first gear is trashed. I've been having a hard time finding a T-5 and when i do the prices are crazy. I know there is the Tremec TR3550 but what cars where they in? And how do you tell the difference. I was thinking of going to an automatic but I would like to keep it a stick. If I do go to auto do I need to change my computer?

I've got a Tremec 3550 in my coupe and love it. And, it's not much more $$ than a new T-5. You can have one to your door for like $1150 from D&D.

It's a fairly straight-forward install, just remember that you'll probably need a different speedo gear than what was in your T-5 as the Tremecs have a different number of teeth on the speedo drive gear than do the T-5s. D&D has a chart on their website to help figure it out.

I also opted for a new clutch and aluminum flywheel setup when I did mine as well as an SFI approved McCleod steel bellhousing.

Good luck,
E
