Default motor mounts???

I have a 84 t top 3.8 mustang, and i want to put a 302 from a 68 mustang in it what do i use for motor mounts??? i don't really want to make them if i don't have to. lol. This is the only thing thats keeping me from putting the 302 in my car, i have every thing else i need. Has anyone else had this problem with finding mounts??? any help would be great!!!

the mounts should be the same as an 84 302..

dont forget though.. the early engine has a different balance than the later engines... so you're going to need a special balancer thats 28oz and drilled for the 4-bolt pulleys.. if you want to run a serpentine belt.. late flexplate/flywheel wont work either

I went to advanced auto and looked at mounts for a 84 5.0 and they won't even bolt on my block.. Is there a braket in between the motor and the mount or something?? And i am going to use the v belt pulleys and the 68 flex plate too..

The motor mount is something you can pick up in an auto parts store. What you need is the bracket that goes between the mount and the block. You shoud be able to pick that up from a junk yard.

Screw all that. What you need is the mounts from a 93 convertible Stang. They are one piece like the ones you can get from energy suspension, except they are rubber from the parts stores. They are like 28 dollars for each side. Go to the parts stores and check them out. The only thing I'm not positively sure of is that the 3.8 K member is the same as the V8 but I'm almost 99% sure. I know the 4 cyl is the same. Assuming the K member is the same, you're good to go.

...or you can go to the Ford dealer and get the entire 5.0 mounts (metal brackets and rubber mounts assembly, if you will) for your year car.

What transmission did you say you're using? Concerning the flywheel, Ford tech line can help on your application ((586) 468-1356).

I am using the stock tranny that was on the 3.8 for now, not sure what it is but is has been rebuilt not to long ago.. but i have a c4 i am going to have built for it. when cash permits. and the 3.8 and 302 flexplate look identical exept the 3.8 has smaller bolt holes that bolt to the crank.. I have the motor and tranny together waiting for motor mounts to drop it down in the car..

And i looked at a 85 5.0 at the local bone yard "with no motor" and the k member looked the same as mine.. the only thing i noticed differnt is the sway bar and coil springs on mine are a bit smaller. I never looked at convertible mounts they did say they were differnt on the computer at advanced auto i will check them out tomorow if they are open!!. thanks for all your guys help !!!
