![]() Pull the motor/tranny together. I have done it 7 (8?) times that way...
You just need a "leveler" to change the center of gravity on the block/tranny when the motor is hoisted int he air. Since you are really after just removing the tranny, do just that. Dont make it harder and remove the motor. Loosen the motor mount (WATCH for the fan), and lower the tranny down to the ground. You should have a line of sight at the bolts to be able to put a looooong extention on it and impact gun it off there.
