![]() The 342 is in the future, after paint and suspension mods.
Currently I have a 306. It is basically the original 1985 roller block, .030 over, with a balanced and blueprinted bottom end, using ARP Wave-Loc rodbolts, and windage tray, the TRW rebuild kit came with a stock cam grind. I have GT-40 heads from Texas Turbo, they were called "Street Killer"s and were only pocket ported as far as I could tell. I bought them back when they were about the only choice on the market. I am using Crane roller rockers. My intake is a Performer 302 and I have the stock Holley 4180C. I have a Mr. Gasket 925D recurve kit in the distributer. I have Mac shorties, H-pipe w/converters and 2 1/2" catbacks with Dynomax Super Turbos. I have only ran it at the track once on street tires and 2.73s. On my final pass, I slipped the clutch off the line from an idle and ran it to 6,000RPM in 1st and second gears and shifted between 4,500 and 5,000 into fourth (14.1 at 96.xx). On my first pass I ran a 14.79 at 95.xx, second 17.xx at 93.xx "smoked" the tires, and third 14.24 at 96. It was nearly 100* and very humid. I ordered a rebuilt 2.95 T-5 from AMP today, with a Pro 5.0 shifter. Tom told me I could use a stock T-5 rebuild, but I opted for the higher first gear since I have 3.73s.
