Default New Exaust System

Hello I have been lookin into a CAT back exaust system for my 1994 ford mustang gt. I was thinking of replacing the cats i have with 2 hi flow cats. Also along with that i was going to get 2 v-force hi flow mufflers. I have done a little research and it is going to cost around 5-6 hundred dollars. So my question is, roughly, how much horse power will i gain from doing this work and will it be worth my money? Thanks.

$500 - 600 for cats and mufflers, damn thats expensive. you might see 10 hp total. for that same price you could probably add 15 - 25 with other bolt ons. by the way, what are v-force mufflers, never heard of em? as far as the cats. you got 2 choices, offroad pipe or cats. if you want to pass emmisions, keep the cats but dont buy any "high flow" ones either. you could spend that same 200 - 300 dollars and get yourself a nice set of shorty headers or mass air or something. so in my opinion no its not worth it, but its your choice!

V-force mufflers are loud as hell, I have one on my Honda and my Brother had one on his 300zx.

Not a good loud either.

If you really want to send yourself into a spin go to www.mustangexhaust.com and ask the same question. There are all kinds of cat-back systems out there and I believe most give you 5-10% power increase. I hear the flowmasters are not good for the performance increase. Bassani,Magnaflow and Borla are better.

Al, also 94 GT and soon to get magnapack mufflers

Cat-back exhaust systems are worth jack for power. There's just not that much of a restriction. 5hp. So you pick the system you think sounds the best. It's not gonna make a performance difference.

You can pick up 10-15 hp with a H-pipe though.

Get a 2.5" H-pipe with hi-flo cats if you live in a emissons controled state or a off-road H-pipe with no cats if you don't.

From my understanding V-force mufflers are a flowmaster rip offs. I have them on my car because they came on the car and I can't afford new ones.
