Question Taillight Kill Switch

I want to do a kill switch that turns off the taillights and brake lights. Anyone ever done this? Can someone point me in the right direction or have pics of what they did? I got the ashtray switchpanel, so I can use that for the switch.

Snip the black/pink wire running from the transmission and wire the switch inline. That takes care of your buckup lights. As for the brake lights, if my memory serves me correctly, there is a switch at the top of the brake pedal's frame with 2 wires coming out of it. If it has 4, then do this: Get a voltmeter, ground the black and stab the red into the back of the connector until you get the one that goes hot when you push the brake with your hand. Snip and inline it. You can do this really elegantly with a relay with 2 terminals and put 1 switch on that setup but I personally hate relays.

He wants the kill switch so that he can run from the cops if they catch him street racing or anything else illegal.

Fleeing from the police in Pa. carries an automatic 6 month suspension and $500 fine. I don't know where you're from or your state laws about fleeing cops but it can't be good.
Is it really worth it?? You want to risk fines and suspensions just to be able to beat "Joe Schmo" down the street??

Yep.

I am going to be so far in front of Joe Schmo, that the cops are going to get hime first

I started looking at it and it would appear the best way to do it would be, cut all the ground wires and tie them all together. Then run a switch inline to the grounds. With the switch on, the light work as normal. With it off, the ground is broken, and the lights cant work. This sound good? I would also do it to the 3rd light, as well as, the plate lights.
